- The injury is handled through our workers’ compensation carrier (EMC Insurance). It does not become a claim against the homeowner’s property insurance or homeowner’s liability coverage. We carry workers’ compensation specifically to insulate customers from worker-injury exposure during service visits. If a technician sustains an injury at your home, document the situation, allow the technician to call 911 if needed, and contact the office; the rest of the claims process is between us and EMC.
- What is the difference between EPA Section 608 Universal and Type II?
- Section 608 has four certification levels. Type I covers small appliances (under 5 lbs of refrigerant). Type II covers high-pressure systems (most residential and light-commercial AC, heat pumps, refrigeration). Type III covers low-pressure chillers (R-11, R-123). Universal covers all three. Universal certification is held by our owner and senior technicians because residential HVAC service may incidentally encounter all three equipment categories, especially in mixed-use buildings or older properties with original chiller equipment.
